Quick Tip How-To Adulting Guide
Welcome to the quick tip how-to adulting guide! In this quick tip guide, you will learn four essential how-to adulting tips.
Be Independent But Not Alienated
You are now your first line of defense. It is essential to build independence and have the capability to stand on your own. There are two things that you should strive to do for yourself – protect and provide. Build skills and collect assets that you can use to protect and provide.
That means the thought process of calling mom and dad needs to be slowly removed. It is okay to still have them as a safety net, but they are no longer your first line of defense.
Become Financially Acute
We currently live in a time where people believe that they can make millions overnight with minimal effort. While it is possible, it is not the norm. Therefore, live a financially sound life because you can’t expect those millions to come your way.
Definitely work your butt off for it if it is what you desire and hold dear.
Otherwise, take the time to learn how to first use money then make money. It is essential that you learn how to both use and make money. If you learn how to do both you will be able to grow your wealth and build greater financial security.
Living is expensive and financing life can be stressful. Do what you can to minimize that stress.
Treat Your Body Well
Your mind, body, and soul needs to be treated with respect. What you tell yourself becomes reality. If you tell yourself you suck at x, y, and z you will continue to suck at it. Be careful what you say to yourself and be kind to yourself. Your mind is a powerful thing. Nurture it.
Create a plan to get and stay active. No one is saying to get ripped and start posting workout videos of yourself.
Your goal is to find a physique and exercise lifestyle that works for you and you can maintain. As I’ve progressed in my twenties I feel my body changing for better and worse. Our bodies age and decay if we don’t treat them well. Challenge your body and give it the nutrients it needs. Your 50-year-old self will thank you. Heck, your 30-year-old self will be ecstatic!
Be Accountable and Responsible
The buck starts and ends with you. You are responsible for your actions and should hold yourself accountable for their outcomes. A major point of adulthood and being a real adult is rooted in the words of accountability and responsibility.
Be Accountable. Hold yourself to a standard. If you fall below your standard, take responsibility for that change and take the necessary steps to improve.
Real growth comes when you choose to be self-aware, recognize gaps, and recondition yourself.
Best of luck adulting!
